What is HP Metal Jet?

HP Metal jet is a 3D printing process that utilizes powdered metal materials to create accurate, complex, and finely detailed parts. They are manufactured in the powder bed, layer-by-layer, and solidified using HP’s unique combination of binding agents and energy.

Why 3D print  metals with Metal Jet?

HP’s metal jetting technology can be leveraged for the fabrication of complex metal parts with high precision and efficiency. It finds its application in various industries such as robotics, automotive, medical and consumer goods, where the demand for lightweight, durable and customizable metal part is high.

More About Metal Sintering

Important information about the process

Our Elnik 3045 batch furnace and a CM continuous furnace are engineered specifically to process metal binder jet parts. With the full suite of analytical tools required to analyze sintered parts, we can also develop and modify sintering cycles in-house. A typical sintering cycle is between 22 and 28 hours long depending on the specific alloy. With our sintering furnaces, we can sinter in both a hydrogen and nitrogen atmosphere, allowing us to develop additional materials in the future depending on the business case. The optimal part size for our sintering furnaces is roughly the size of a baseball but we have the capability to sinter larger parts with modifications to the cycle length.
